Week's Summary

This was my taper week for the Ogden so the overall volume as pretty low.  Unfortunately I felt pretty flat all throughout the week, so in the back of my mind I was sort of worried how I would do in Ogden.  Like usual, though, I had plenty of spring in my legs when it came to race day and while the elements were challenging, at least I didn't have to worry about the heat.

This week will primarily be about recovery.  I usually start to run easy miles about 3 days post marathon.  So right now I am doing a lot of walking and active recovery as the experts like to call it.

Ogden Marathon Splits

I suppose I'll never know my mile splits for the Ogden Marathon with my Garmin's satellite pretty much konking out at mile 16.  But they did finally post the official results and my checkpoint splits look pretty good:

Mile SplitOverall TimeAverage Overall Pace
7.01:01:398:49
Half1:57:128:57
18.32:47:459:11
23.13:26:448:57
253:45:579:03

I knew I was hauling ass down the canyon which started at about mile 17.
