Week's Summary
Well I started off the year on the 3rd. All told, I got in a pretty solid week of training. While I didn't do any specific speed work, I ran hard on days when my legs felt like they were up to it and easy when the conditions didn't suit a hard workout.
This week I have a lot of late work night type of stuff, so it isn't likely I'll be able to run / train much. Plus I'll be doing a bit of a taper in anticipation to Saturday's race.
I took an extended break while I was in Vegas -- the first time in a really long time. I wound up taking about 4.5 days off -- that were completely non-injury related. I wound gaining weight as a result (I over did it at the buffets). That is why I really hate taking running breaks. The amount I run gives me a huge cushion to eat just about whatever I want.

Upcoming Races
I finally took the plunge and signed up for the St George Half Marathon. Since I've moved here, I've spotted this mid January race and have wanted to do it. I just never made an effort to sign up and actually be there. So this year, I decided, hell, why not. Plus it will give me an opportunity to get into some warmer climes for a bit. Definitely looking forward to the race, but definitely NOT looking forward to the 4 hour drive down there.
